This (plum crazy) Purple People Eater got dropped off today for a week review. With a brandy-new clutch thanks to the journos at IMPA having smoked its original one at their Test Days event a few weeks ago. Poor thing didn't last 4,000 miles. (sorry for the crappy photo - sucky phone cam)

I have a quite interesting story about those.

Picture a time long long ago, about 1 month before those showed in magazines. We're on vacation in California, and being the family my family is, life basically based around cars, (not really but you get me point) we decided to road trip to Laguna Seca and see the fabulous corkscrew (video games don't do that turn justice), and Infineon raceway. We go touring around the outside of both tracks, (it wasn't raceday) and see an open garage illuminated while the sun is falling. We go down to take a look and see about 2-4 Viper ACR's (I think), but the big one was the sporty looking Challengers. Well, were told by about 10 people to take only a few pictures and not to post them ANYWHERE! So we checked it out, looked under the cars and all to see the suspension and thought "Wow, these will be cool". So, about a month later the same colored 392's show up in magazines and we all sit there at the dinner table going "Wow, We saw these before anyone else!"

Story over.

Oh, check this out, I just Googled Challenger 392 and look at one of the first pictures to show up.

You think this is an interesting enough story to main page? (be honest please) Any Suggestions on things to fix if I do?

Try posting this as a standalone story on Oppo and see if it gets picked up by Jalopnik. Put the car photo at the very top, and come up with an interesting sentence for the lede to get readers' attention. If you have any of the photos you took back then include one or two of those too. Buena suerte.
